Sculpey Nautilus by Cacodaemonia Sculpey Nautilus by Cacodaemonia
I had to photograph a commission this morning, so I grabbed this little Sculpey nautilus I made about a year ago, and decided to include him in the photo shoot. :) The vignetting is entirely due to my little lightbox thingie, but I adjusted the colors in Photoshop. The nautilus is pretty messed up anatomically, but I didn't have a reference at the time.

Sculpey, 3" long, 2009.

I love this, the delicate texturing, the curly tentacles... it almost is as if the tentacles are squirming! Brilliant :)

This really caught my eye in thumbnail. It's so beautiful! There's a sort of grace to it, and it stands out so much against the background. Nice!

Woah woah woah! Have I mentioned that you are AMAZING at pretty much all aspects of art? Wow, to be able to create something so awesome looking and vibrant and then to be able to photograph it like that, just wow. The tentacles made me giggle, I love their movement. XD

Yes! :) Nautiluses are really cool. Nautilus pompilius is called the chambered nautilus in English. There is also a species of animals sometimes called a paper nautilus (argonaut), but I didn't know about it when I named my website. ^^;

Augh so awesome! The tentacles are so wavy and flowy and in-motion-y! And the way you did the colours on the shell is pretty neat, too!

Now I want to go get my sculpey out too...
