The human body louse exists everywhere people do, but usually only gets a foothold on people who do not have regular access to bathing facilities and clean clothing. They generally live in clothing, climbing down to the skin to feed on blood several times day. Adult lice are about the size of a sesame seed.

Interestingly, the term "nitpicking" came from the act of looking through a person's hair for the tiny eggs (nits) of lice and removing them one by one.

I managed to give myself a nightmare with this sketch! I dreamt that I had all these huge lice attached to me and my clothing, and I kept trying to get them off and hide them so other people wouldn't see. It was soooo freaky and not cool.

Nits are common in children. So hard to get rid of them too especially if they're around other children who have nits. :lmao:

I've had them when I was a kid. And my kids had them too. :XD:

Hope you don't get any more nightmares of that. ;P

I've had a dream like that before! When I was about 11, everyone at school had nits... including me. It was not nice! As soon as I saw this I thought 'I know what that is!'. Nasty little things.

I like the strong lines on this.

Heh, yeah. And they seemed to prefer clean hair. It made me think about tying my hair back when I went to work in a school. Eugh.

... *shudders* Oh this one creped me out a little. The face here looks just to ... hmm "human" if that makes any sense. And the massive body..iT's darn very well and all but It's creepy.
I remember I read this in my Fauna and Flora lore book as a child. I read that they are almost died out (well this was written in the 70 I think) and that a lot of soldiers in war used to have them due to the lack of opportunities to change and bath and so on.
