I found some time today to work on this. Several people had pointed out that the top of the image was too bright, which was detracting from where I wanted the focus to be. When you're looking at the surface of water from underneath, it can basically do one of two things: either show a warped version of whatever is on the other side, or reflect what's below the water. I decided to go with the reflection, since it just pulls elements from the rest of the painting. Do you think it works? Oh, and I know that I haven't painted in the otter's reflections yet.
