;_; I saw the title for this piece and thought "No way; is she a Decemberists fan!?!?!" I love the picture and the take on the awesome song by them. I love the crown/hat thing on her head that's like the crane's coloring, its amazing and detailed! It also makes me happy that you got the "left over right" thing down on her Kimono.

Since it says advanced critique encouraged, I'll try a little bit. As much as I love the background as is, I think you can do a lot more with it. The mountain things seem kind of simple in comparison to the rest of the piece. I love the stars, and the style they are in, but I think that it clashes a bit with the mountains.

Yeah, I'm still not sure how I feel about the background. :/ I mean, I wanted to keep it simple so as not to distract the eye from the figure, but I also feel like there's more I could do with it. I just don't know what!

I really love the way her hair fades into the night. I read your summary of the legend on the other piece, and I really like your interpretation of it. I agree with a lot of others that I prefer the piece without the string.
